The last month I have been headstrong about getting four things done: get my website up and running, write in the blog frequently, build clientele, and not completely neglect my house in the process.
I am happy to say that www.jenmishkin.com is up! It definitely isn't perfect and still needs work, but I am happy with it. I can proudly say I did 98% of it by myself. The other 2% was my husband showing me what to do (which basically means he takes over my laptop and does it because it's easier for him that way). I am by no means a computer whiz like my husband. What takes me a month would take him an hour, but like he said "If you do it yourself, it will mean more to you..." So in front of the world I make this confession...Bry, my love, you were right. The website is and will be filled with rotating images I have taken of Children, Maternity, Families, Seniors, and Newborns. There is also an area for private "Galleries" for clients to see their sessions and will actually be able to order online! I haven't exactly set the order part up quite yet but like I said it's still a work in progress. My favorite part is that I have a "Casting Call" section where I will be looking for different clients for a specific shoot I have in mind, and will offer a discount to them if they qualify. All in all it has turned out great and I can't wait to continue making it better as my business starts growing. If you have any suggestions please let me know.
My blog will be a mix of "sneak peaks" for clients, updates on me, and will offer exclusive specials to those that follow my blog and website. I will post codes on here and other fun things in the future so make sure to follow me here and watch for clues on Facebook as to when the specials will be posted! Hopefully this will reach out and build my clientele as well.
As for the house....well 3 out of 4 isn't bad right? I will get to that at some point in the near future.
